Chapter 7, Death It Sowed, moves from the Third Trial entrance through a battlefield and the Black Temple, using mirror-and-colour puzzles before its late confrontation. It contains one Blade, four Artefacts, and five Charms, so make optional checks before following a clear one-way exit. Use this walkthrough for the chapter sequence and open the Skull Room page only when you reach that specific temple puzzle.
Approach the Trial entrance
At the beginning, use the Grapnel route across the cliff and check the ground to the right after climbing the next ledge for an early Resonance Point. After descending into the first room, look behind the pillar to the left of the door for another point before manipulating the light. These early pickups are easy to lose track of because the chapter starts with a puzzle rather than a quiet exploration zone.
The door requires two levers and the light-splitting Sphere. Turn the rear lever so its reflector sends light forward, use the central lever to angle the next double lens down, then stand in the illuminated metal area. Project Sophia's coloured beams onto the matching plates around the door to open it.
Reach the Black Temple and find the Khopesh
After the first temple route, the chapter opens into its larger battlefield section, The Whole Damn Army. Work through the underground stretch until Sophia crawls through a tight opening into an open area. Before following the objective, turn left toward the giant skull to find an optional bull pillar.
Stand slightly to the side of its plate, align the three Sphere colours with their targets, and enter the tomb that opens to take the Khopesh. This is the chapter's only Blade and one of the eight needed for Plunderer. The All Blades guide explains the later weapons and the separate Adaptable kill requirement.
Read the temple light puzzles
Chapter 7 uses the same source, reflector, and coloured receiver language as Chapter 5, but often puts the key levers behind the place Sophia first entered. When a beam is aimed at the wrong height, turn around and look for a lever that moves the first reflector before changing the Sphere. Once the fixed light reaches the intended lens, stand on the lit circle and align the three colours with the matching plates.
Do not interpret a dark door as a combat problem if the room still contains an unused lever or a receiver with no light. Conversely, a solved light gate can be followed immediately by soldiers. Clear them before judging the next route, because enemy waves are often the final progression condition after the beam is correct.
A Stage of Skulls and the Theseus Echo
The chapter's skull section contains a detour for Theseus Echo #3. During the objective to open one of the doors, solve the route, drop through the newly opened hole, slide below the gate, and swing across two Grapnel hooks. Jump to the right near the large locked green gate to find the Axe Chalice and its Pierced Coin Charm.
This Echo can be recovered later with Chapter Select, but it is close enough to the main puzzle that collecting it now avoids a return trip. The Theseus Echoes guide lists all five Chalices and explains how the Pierced Coins also count toward Charms.
Solve the Skull Door and Skull Room
The Skull Door has four switches. From the door, press the first switch on the right, second on the right, first on the left, and second on the left. Inside, clear the soldiers, use the Sphere on the sunlit right wall to reveal the first ringed skull, follow the moved light to the opposite wall for the second skull, then use the final console to align the colours.
The console needs its disc positioned above the green light point before the mirrors can deliver red, green, and blue to their marks. Treat that orientation as a separate step from the beam alignment. The Chapter 7 Skull Room solution gives the full troubleshooting order if a stage does not react.
Finish the Trial and prepare for the confrontation
The later chapter transitions from temple mechanisms to higher-pressure combat. Enter every arena with space to dodge, parry only attacks you recognise, and use a clear opening to manage one enemy rather than allowing a crowd to surround Sophia. If the chapter's boss-like encounter is slowing you down, lower difficulty without worrying about trophy eligibility.
Between major encounters, inspect the immediate route before using an obvious door or squeeze-through. The linear structure makes it safer to take a short detour immediately than to rely on a full replay later. The normal collection categories can be replayed, but Resonance Points should still be collected and carried to their next checkpoint during the main run.
Chapter 7 collection plan
Death It Sowed contains one Blade, four Artefacts, and five Charms, alongside Resonance Points. The Khopesh and the third Theseus Echo are the easiest named objectives to keep in mind because they sit off the visual main route. For ordinary items, compare the chapter counters before leaving; if a category is short after the story, Chapter Select can recover it.
Do not use that strategy for points. They do not transfer from a replayed chapter into a later save, and a death before a checkpoint can require a point pickup again. The Resonance Points guide explains how to secure Like a Warrior without demanding a perfect 200-point route.
If Chapter 7 seems stuck
First identify whether the active blocker is a light receiver, a switch sequence, an enemy encounter, or an objective that needs dialogue to finish. In the entrance room, verify both levers before moving the Sphere. In skull rooms, wait for the light to shift after a correct skull and return to the console only after both wall interactions are complete.
When the environment looks clear but the objective does not update, inspect the most recently opened mechanism rather than backtracking across the whole chapter. Sophia's notebook and the immediate objective are useful for separating a missing interaction from a difficult route. For the full campaign order, return to the main walkthrough.
