Resonance Chapter 5 Greek Sword Tomb Guide
Find the Greek Sword in Resonance Chapter 5 by taking the side path from Four Symbols and aligning the three colored beams at the axe hatch.
On this page+
The Greek Sword is hidden in Chapter 5's Four Symbols section: leave the obvious route, reach the plunderer's camp, then align red, green, and blue light with their matching gems to open the axe-marked hatch. The tomb is optional and has no waypoint, so collect it before you finish the Trial branch. It is one of the eight standard Blades required for Plunderer.
Where to start looking
The tomb appears in Chapter 5, Desolation It Wrought, during the objective to find the second symbol in The Four Symbols. In the central symbol area, use the route marked by the round sign with three lines through it. This takes Sophia across a broken bridge toward a split where the main-looking route can easily hide the detour.
Do not continue toward the ox-head gate. Take the less obvious branch to the left, follow it down toward the abandoned plunderer's camp, and clear the enemies there. The camp contains an axe symbol on the ground and the bull-pillar mechanism that opens the tomb below it.
What you need before solving it
The puzzle uses the Chapter 5 upgrade that splits the Sphere's light into red, green, and blue beams. Make sure the Sphere is charged before climbing to the mechanism; a depleted Sphere cannot project the three colours. Clear the camp first, because the precise viewing position is much easier to use without enemies interrupting Sophia.
The important thing is not to search for a separate key or a fourth symbol. The hatch reacts only when the three coloured gems receive the matching beams at the same time. If the axe mark is visible but nothing opens, one colour is not seated on its correct receiver.
Reach the correct aiming position
Stand near the axe-marked hatch and look for the raised platform immediately to its left. Climb onto that platform, then continue to the top of the nearby pillars. The eye-shaped floor mark is the intended aiming spot; standing elsewhere makes the beam angles look almost possible but prevents a reliable alignment.
Once Sophia stands on the eye mark, bring out the Sphere and observe the three receivers around the camp. The green receiver is the most useful first reference because it fixes the initial orientation. Set green first, then rotate the other two beams independently until they land on the matching red and blue gems.
Open the axe hatch step by step
- From the Four Symbols hub, cross the broken bridge via the round sign with three lines and take the left branch, not the ox-head route.
- Clear the plunderer's camp and find the axe-marked hatch with the bull pillar nearby.
- Climb the platform to the left of the hatch, then stand on the eye-shaped mark on top of the pillars.
- Activate the Sphere's three-colour mode and place the green beam on the green gem first.
- Rotate the red and blue beams until each lights the gem in the same colour; all three must stay lit together.
- When the axe hatch opens, drop into the tomb and open the large chest for the Greek Sword.
The hatch is your clear confirmation. Do not leave after lighting only one or two gems, even if a beam looks close to its target. Once all three are correct, the floor changes and the tomb is available immediately beneath the axe symbol.
What the Greek Sword counts toward
The Greek Sword is one of eight required Blades. Collecting every standard Blade unlocks Plunderer, while Adaptable requires at least one kill with each required weapon. The optional pre-order Hero's Blade is a bonus item and is not needed for either of those two completion goals.
After recovering the sword, open Sophia's menu and equip it when you reach a safe combat opportunity. Secure one kill with it rather than assuming the tomb pickup completes Adaptable automatically. The trophy roadmap explains how to finish that weapon cleanup efficiently after the story.
Why this tomb is easy to miss
Chapter 5 is built around collecting symbols for the Trial, and the Greek Sword route deliberately sits off that objective line. The ox-head gate and the central symbol task make it natural to walk past the left branch. The absence of a quest marker is intentional: the axe hatch is a reward for exploration and for recognising a bull-pillar puzzle away from the main door.
The other frequent problem is starting the light puzzle from ground level. The eye mark above the camp provides the intended sightline for all three gems. If a beam will not land cleanly, return to the top of the pillars instead of trying to force a solution from beside the hatch.
Chapter 5 completion context
Desolation It Wrought is a dense chapter for optional progress. Its normal checklist has one Blade, five Artefacts, and five Charms, with Resonance Points requiring the separate single-playthrough rule. The Greek Sword is safe to recover later through Chapter Select, but Resonance Points gathered in a replay do not merge into your main progression total.
Before finishing a Trial branch, check the obvious side paths for chests, artefacts, or white point glints. If you are aiming for Like a Warrior, reach checkpoints after collecting points and avoid leaving a large group for later. The collectibles guide and Resonance Points guide explain the difference between those two cleanup systems.
