Resonance Floor Maze Symbols Puzzle Solution
Open the Resonance Chapter 4 floor maze door by setting the left dial to the insect rune and the right dial to the T-like rune correctly now.

Set the Chapter 4 floor-maze pedestal on the left to the insect-shaped rune and the pedestal on the right to the T-like rune. Both symbols must sit in the top position beneath the golden arches before the door opens. Use Light Reveal to trace the glowing path from each dial if the room's angled carvings make either shape difficult to identify.
Where the floor maze appears
The floor maze is the third locked door of Chapter 4, From Hell It Rose, during the First Trial. You reach it after the first three-symbol door and the mirror-beam room. Sophia and Leni arrive in a circular chamber with two dial pedestals, five runes around the outside, and a large pattern cut into the floor.
This room looks like a symbol-memory test, but the answer is not intended to be guessed. The game has already given Sophia Light Reveal at the gilded pedestal near the Trial entrance. That ability exposes the blue maze lines that connect each dial to its own answer.
Quick answer: the two symbols
| Pedestal | Correct rune | How to recognise it |
|---|---|---|
| Left | Insect / bug | Oval body with four short lines extending from it |
| Right, facing the gate | T-like rune | Angular shape that can also resemble an F from one angle |
Interact with the left dial and turn it until the insect shape is in the upper, gold-framed slot. Then stand at the right mechanism while facing the locked gate and rotate it to the T-like mark. The two dials must be correct at the same time, so do not leave one answer at the side of the circle after identifying it.
Reveal the answer instead of trusting the shape name
Stand on the central metal part of the floor, where the maze is easiest to read. Activate Light Reveal and sweep the Sphere across the circular carving and the five outer runes. You should see one glowing route leave each pedestal, wind through the maze, and end at a single rune.
Follow the left route all the way to its endpoint before touching a dial. Repeat with the right route, then compare the symbols at those endpoints with the dials. This matters because the T-like rune can look different when viewed from the opposite side of the room, while its blue connection never changes.
Step-by-step solution
- Confirm that Light Reveal is available; if no blue lines appear, return to the gilded pedestal at the Trial entrance and make sure the earlier interaction is complete.
- Stand where you can see the centre of the maze, activate Light Reveal, and identify the blue path that begins at the left dial.
- Trace that path to the oval insect rune, then set the left dial so the insect sits in the golden top slot.
- Trace the second path from the right dial while facing the gate, then set that dial to the angular T-like rune in its own golden top slot.
- Watch for the line of fire beside the doorway. It is the visual confirmation that both inputs registered.
The room does not require a timed input. Take a moment after each rotation to verify the selected mark is actually seated at the top rather than merely visible somewhere on the dial. If the door remains shut, one of the two symbols is misaligned or you have used the T-like shape from the wrong orientation.
What happens after the door opens
The open door leads directly into a combat encounter rather than a quiet corridor. A Brute-level enemy joins the group, so do not rush forward while looking at the fire trail. Create space, identify attacks you can safely parry, and avoid being boxed in by smaller soldiers.
The puzzle itself does not become harder if you lower combat difficulty, and combat settings do not change the runes. If the fight is what stops progress, adjust the difficulty or accessibility settings without worrying about trophies. If the door is still closed before combat begins, return to the dials rather than searching for a hidden lever.
Why players get stuck here
The five outer symbols are deliberately similar enough to make a quick visual guess unreliable. The right answer is also often called an F-like rune, while other players describe it as a T. Both descriptions point to the same angular mark; the route from the right pedestal is the authoritative check.
Another common mistake is to use the blue markings like a path Sophia must walk across. They are not a movement route in this room. They are a diagram showing which rune belongs to which rotating mechanism, so the goal is to trace the line visually and set the dial, not step on the entire maze.
How it fits into the First Trial
The First Trial teaches a consistent language before escalating its traps. The opening door uses blue paths to map three pedestals to three symbols; the mirror room uses a visible light route to map a beam to a door dial; the maze turns the same idea into a circular diagram. Reading the clue before manipulating the device is the intended solution pattern.
Keep that pattern in mind for the spike crossings and the Minotaur arena later in the chapter. In each case, the Sphere reveals the information you need before the environment asks you to act. The Chapter 4 First Trial puzzle guide covers those later rooms in encounter order.
Chapter 4 completion notes
The floor maze is part of the main route, so it does not affect the normal collection counter by itself. Chapter 4 contains one Blade, three Artefacts, and two Charms, and the Trial has several points where a clearly opened exit advances the route. Check nearby optional paths before committing to an obvious collapse, crawlspace, or final door.
Resonance Points deserve separate attention during a completion run. They do not carry from a Chapter Select replay into a later story save, unlike standard collectibles. Read the Resonance Points guide before relying on post-story cleanup, and use the collectibles checklist for the categories that Chapter Select does preserve.
