Resonance Chapter 5 Walkthrough and Puzzles

Clear Resonance Chapter 5 by using the light-splitting Sphere, solving the Second Trial symbols and spikes, and finding the optional Greek Sword tomb.

Chapter 5, Desolation It Wrought, is cleared by upgrading the Sphere to split red, green, and blue light, completing the Second Trial's symbol branches, then finishing its traps and final light mechanism. The chapter holds one Blade, five Artefacts, and five Charms, making it worth exploring before every obvious exit. Read the section matching your current objective to avoid later-story spoilers.

Get the light-splitting upgrade

The opening room teaches the central Chapter 5 mechanic. Interact with the receptacle, stand in the active light, and use the Sphere to project three coloured beams. Aim each beam at the receptor with the matching colour; green, red, and blue all need to remain connected for the door to open.

This replaces the Chapter 4 focus on hidden blue paths with a more spatial version of the same logic. Start from the receiver you can see most clearly, then rotate the other beams one at a time. If the door stays shut, check that every colour is striking a matching gem rather than merely crossing the room.

Reach the central Trial and read the journal

The Second Trial uses a central hub and several symbol-marked routes. Sophia's journal records the symbols you need, so use it before treating the central dial as a guessing game. Match each doorway's black floor symbol to its red partner in the journal, then set the central mechanism to that red mark when returning with the answer.

This structure is why Chapter 5 can feel wider than the earlier Trial. You are meant to leave the hub, solve a branch, collect its symbol, and return with new information. Finish nearby optional paths before putting the last symbol into the central system, because the final route advances the chapter quickly.

Floor-symbol spike platforms

One branch uses symbols on the floor to show the safe order across the pillars. The pattern begins dots, kraken, dots, flower, kraken. Read the journal or floor clue before jumping; a wrong platform triggers the trap and sends Sophia back to retry the crossing.

For the longer route that keeps optional finds in reach, follow the platform sequence that matches the revealed pattern and take the left-side climb after the final safe jump. Do not rush to the nearest visible platform just because it is closer. The room is testing the symbol order, not the speed of your platforming.

Four Symbols and the optional Greek Sword

The Four Symbols branch leads through several smaller trials and also hides the chapter's Blade. When searching for the second symbol, take the round sign with three lines, cross the broken bridge, and follow the left path to the plunderer's camp. The axe hatch there opens only after the three coloured Sphere beams match the gems from the eye-marked platform.

Drop into the tomb for the Greek Sword before continuing to the ox-head route. The Blade is recoverable through Chapter Select, but taking it now keeps the chapter's normal count on track. See the Greek Sword tomb guide for the exact positioning and light order.

Pillars, mirrors, and the three colour rule

The middle of the chapter reuses three ideas in different forms: a fixed light source, an object that redirects it, and a receiver that signals success. Pillars change the beam's available path, mirrors carry it around an obstruction, and coloured sockets care about the final colour rather than the first visible ray. When a mechanism feels confusing, work backward from the dark receiver to the nearest movable object.

Avoid moving every object at once. Establish one beam that is definitely correct, then adjust the next mirror or lens while watching whether the first connection remains active. This makes the larger rooms manageable and prevents a correct early step from being accidentally undone.

The last symbol

The last symbol sequence takes place in an underground chamber where dust conceals part of the light system. Use the blue beam to burn the dust away before trying to route the final colours. Then direct green through the far lens toward the central green symbol, bounce red through the far-left lens to the central red symbol, and finish the blue connection at its matching socket.

All three central symbols must light together for the objective to complete. If a lens is missing, the dust has not been fully cleared; sweep the blue light around the chamber again. The route into this section may appear blocked by a metal door, but the intended way forward is the ladder behind the dead end rather than forcing that door.

Chapter 5 collection plan

The normal collectible count is one Blade, five Artefacts, and five Charms. Check side rooms and the edges of larger Trial spaces before a major door, boat, squeeze-through, or final symbol placement. The chapter also contains many Resonance Points, which need to remain on the same forward-moving save for Like a Warrior.

Standard items can be cleaned up later through Chapter Select, so do not restart a finished chapter for one missed chest. Points are different: a replay does not merge its points into the later story total. Use the collectibles guide for normal chapter counters and the Resonance Points guide for the one-playthrough rule.

If the Trial seems stuck

First, reopen Sophia's journal and confirm whether the current task is to find a symbol, enter one, or activate a receiver. Then identify the active source and trace each beam to the first place it fails. A black or dust-covered lens, a wrong-colour socket, or a dial set to a remembered rather than journal-confirmed symbol is usually the missing step.

When a room opens into combat, clear the encounter before assuming the next door has failed to unlock. Chapter 5 regularly places enemies after a correct input. Difficulty settings can reduce the fight's pressure, but they do not alter the symbol, colour, or trap solution.

Open the Greek Sword tomb guide for the chapter's required Blade and the collectibles checklist for completion planning. The trophy roadmap explains why points should be protected before Chapter Select cleanup. Chapter flow, puzzle rules, and normal collectible counts were reviewed against the launch build on September 10, 2026.
